Andermatt , the Urn Alps, Switzerland
Small mountain villages of Andermatt, Hospental and Realp are situated in the middle of the Gotthard massif where the main Alp passes intersect. Even more experienced ski experts would appreciate skiing in this famous resort, in particular its trails down from nearly 3,000 m high Gemsstock mountain. Gemsstock is the place where one of the first exclusively carving slopes was created; the slope was named after
Bernhard Russi, the Olympic winner from Sappor. Gemsstock is very popular with snowboarders and freeriders; however, a number of advanced, intermediate or easy slopes is admirably well-balanced here, and so skiing in the spring is a draw even for families with children. Small towns offer relaxing accomodation at bargain prices in hotels, lodging houses and apartments that provide tourists with special price packages including various benefits.
