San Martino di Castrozza (1400m - 2350m)

San Martino di Castrozza , the Fleimstal Alps, Italy Mountain tops of the Palla mountain range, surrounding this resort from one side, are one of the most beautiful sceneries of the Dolomites. The highest top, Cimone della Palla (3,814 m), is also known as Matternhorn of the Dolomites. The resort is situated between the Fleimtal Alps and the Dolomites. More important than the geographical name of the range is the fact that the Dolomiti Superskipass is valid here as well. A cable car and a chair lift, departing directly from San Martino, the smart small town with lots of hotels, take you up to relaxing red carving slopes Ces and Alpe Tongola and those situated below the Rosetta mountain and to a large, 600 m long, snowpark for snowboard enthusiasts. A bit distant ski resort of Passo Rolle is smaller, but thanks to its high elevation drop, it is usually the first to be opened at the beginning of the season. Lifts are not top modern, but perform quite well during the whole season. Your winter holiday here would not be complete without the usual trip up to the Rosetta moutain (2,600 m) where you can enjoy a strikingly charming view of the surrounding Alp massifs.
