Le Grand-Bornand / Le Chinaillon , the Savoy Alps, France Rugged limestone white cliffs of the Savoy massif Aravis give the impression of wilderness and invincibility. Behind the deep ravines on the edge of the cisalpine massif that is always rich in snow, a view over wide limestone Valley opens up with 90 km of runs and 37 chair lifts. The quiet villages of Grand Bornard and Grand Bornard Chinaillon kept their familiarly rustic character until today. Regular and ample snow supply guarantees sufficient snow cover for spring skiing as well. Wide and well groomed runs on open terraces are especially suitable for beginners and children. Challenging runs are rather exceptional. Snowboarding can be practiced in a quality dedicated snowpark that was for the new season equipped with brand-new attractions, such as rails, jumps, quarterpipe and other obstacles. Alpine cross-country trails require higher abilities from skiers and hikers. The aprés-ski facilities include a network of marked hiking trails, two toboggan runs, skating rink, fitness centers, regular and steam baths, guided snowshoeing or tasting of special cream cheese that is produced here.
