Reutte (854m - 1940m)

Reutte , the Lechtal Alps, Austria Reutte is a winter sports resort with city character. It is situated at the foot of Hahnenkamm (1,640 m) with a quarantee of good snow conditions even during years low in snow. Thanks to its attractive downhill and even better cross-country possibilities, it is extremely popular with lovers of active winter holidays. Moreover, the stable weather enables you to enjoy skiing in the spring here as well. Hahnekamm is the most popular tourist attraction with a snow cover quarantee even during years low in snow. Suitable runs for either beginners or experienced skiers are to be found in a large ski resort around Höfener Alm. Cross-country skiers will enjoy their time here even more than lovers of downhill skiing. They are provided with a wide range of posibilities – most of the tracks are along the river of Lech and through the varied landscape. If you decide to follow a track going from Klausenwald up to Rieden, be prepared that it will not easy (after conquering a very steep mountain top you will be finally able to enjoy a stretch through a beautiful fir forest and afterwards a way down towards the Rieden Lake). The region has always been very hospitable, in the past especially to merchants or coach drivers who were passing. It has kept this tradition till nowadays – it offers not only suitable accomodation, but also loads of fun and rich aprés ski activities. It will be impossible for you to get bored. On the frozen lake of Plansee you can practise your skating skills, hardy men can go for diving into the lake. To warm yourself up, hot wine will do the best.
